Description of Services:
Multidisciplinary outpatient program that provides physiotherapy, occupational and speech language therapy for clients who have suffered a recent cerebral-vascular accident, acquired brain injury or other neurologically related impairment, and who have experienced a recent loss of strength or mobility * beneficial for frail elderly and those recovering from a stroke or acquired brain injury, or neurological diseases including Parkinson's, brain tumour, Guillain-BarrĂ© Syndrome and Multiple Sclerosis * clients are treated for two half days a week for a period of up to eight weeks * clients are responsible for transportation to and from the program offered at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH)
  • the intention of this program is to provide a continuum of care from hospital to home following an admission for an acute (within the past 12 months) neurological related event
  • following discharge from the program, clients are provided with appropriate home programs and/or referred to additional community based programs to further their recovery
  • help patients regain the strength they had so they can continue to live independently
