Description of Services:
Spiritual care services are available to people of all faiths and spiritual perspectives, including:
compassionate listening and companionship
assessment of spiritual needs
support during crisis situations
connection to patient's faith tradition for religious rituals and support
meditation space and sacred texts
emotional and spiritual support for experiences of loss and grief, hope and healing
weekly Christian non-denominational worship (Wednesdays 11 am on the Complex Continuing Care Unit)
Faith leader, rabbi, minister, imam or other religious leader can also attend to patient's needs while they are in hospital * Roman Catholics seeking sacramental care such as Sacrament of Reconciliation and Healing (anointing) or the Eucharist can ask hospital staff to have the hospital's main switchboard page the on-call priest * Eucharistic visits from the local parish can also be arranged
