Description of Services:

Acute palliative care inpatient unit (14 beds) at Brampton Civic Hospital provides:

complex and acute pain and symptom management
psychological support to patients, caregivers and families
care and comfort at the end of life
admission direct from home to the inpatient unit for patients with advanced illness who are already registered with one of our palliative care physicians
support with discharge planning, including discharge home or other facilities
culturally sensitive care that respects the patient’s beliefs, values and preference
